Kashima Coating

The finest performance coating - direct from Japan.
$500 per fork, approx. one month downtime.

Kashima Coat is a lubricating anodized aluminum developed by Miyaki Company of Japan.  Molybdenum disufide, a lubricating material, is deposited by electrical induction inside countless pores in the anodized aluminum film.  This coating provides a combination of hardness and lubrication that, when applied to the aluminum outer tubes of a motorcycle fork, elevates the standard telescopic fork to another level of performance.

If you are considering a performance coating, put your money where it will make a difference.  Kashima is applied to the outer fork tubes.  Other coatings are applied to the lower legs and are of little real benefit to performance – the stock chrome coating is already extremely hard and far less sensitive to stick-slip friction than the soft aluminum outer tubes.
