SP Shock
A technical conditions shock for the PDS chassis.
$225 with revalve service.
Many people have a love/hate relationship with KTM’s linkless rear wheel shock absorber design — the Progressive Damping System, or PDS for short. The design is durable and lightweight, but it tends to provide a rear suspension action that is overactive and, at the same time, harsh on square edged obstacles. PDS shocks also have a tendency to top out under heavy braking, causing excessive weight transfer to the front wheel and ruining corner entry.
“SP” stands for single piston – which is at the heart of this modification package aimed at woods/mountain/enduro riders seeking ultimate plushness. Our reconfigured PDS is designed to wheelie over logs with just a pulse through the footpegs. The design is also more stable under cornering and acceleration loads due to retuned low-speed damping.
